Time Management Techniques (Part 1 of 7)

by Brian on

Good day to all my blog readers. I have a great series coming up on the subject of time management techniques. I know that everyone knows that in order to be successful you need to know how to use your time wisely. Someone once said that you cannot manage your time but you can mange your life and in these techniques that you are about to learn you will know how to manage your life better.

Eben Pagan, one of the best entrepreneurs in the world today developed a system called Wake Up Productive and he shares some incredible information about how to manage your time better and I am going to share some of the techniques here but I highly recommend you get on his list for the next time he opens up back the training again because he does share some effective time management techniques there.

In this post I am going to talk a little bit about distractions. One of the main reasons why we cannot manage our time better is because of distractions. Distractions come in the form of people, email, television, cell phones etc. So the first time management technique is to eliminate distractions as much as possible.

Now I am a highly spiritual person and if I am praying or reading my bible or doing something important I take off my cell phone. Now can you do that. You need to realise that in order to accomplish your tasks you have to eliminate those things that will distract you from completing them.

You need to learn to focus on one thing for an extended period of time and you can only do this by eliminating the distractions that come your way during your productivity hour.

So here is my challenge to you. Make a list of the things you need to do each day and when the time comes for you to do it then take off all cell phones, all emails, all Instant Messengers, Facebook, Twitter etc and just focus on the task at hand. You will not die if you take off these distractions for a few hours while you get some important things accomplished during the day.

So the next time you are studying for a test, having quality time with your kids, spending time with God or whatever you need to do that is important, try your best to eliminate distractions as much as possible and then focus on the task at hand for a given period of time!!!

Now that is the first time management technique I will like to share today. If you enjoyed this post then feel free to socially bookmark it on your favorite website and just remember this is just Part 1 of 7 so look forward to the rest.

Thank you and have a great day!!!
