How reading can change your life

There is a say­ing that says that ‘Lead­ers are read­ers’. I am sure you have prob­a­bly heard that and I believe it is true.

I want to ask you a sim­ple ques­tion. Do you read? What’s your response. Most peo­ple today do not like to read. We spend all our time watch­ing tv, lis­ten­ing to music and going on face­book that we refuse to read but I want to let you know that read­ing can change your life.

If your answer was yes to the last ques­tion then I have another ques­tion for you. What do you read? It was Mark Twain who said that ‘he who doesn’t read good books has no advan­tage over the man who can­not read them.’ Now there are lots of peo­ple who read and love to read and while that is com­mend­able I want to let you know that what you read is also impor­tant to chang­ing your life.

You see many peo­ple read the news­pa­pers, read a mag­a­zine, read a novel, a story book and there is noth­ing really wrong with read­ing such things but I believe that the best books to read are books that can help you to change your life around by chang­ing the way you think. This can fall into the cat­e­gory of how to books, self help, spir­i­tu­al­ity, finan­cial, busi­ness etc.

Now I am not say­ing not to read nov­els or other such books but I believe that you should in addi­tion to read­ing such books, read books that can help change your life around. Some books I’ll rec­om­mend are the bible, Think and Grow Rich, Rich Dad Poor Dad, The Rich­est Man in Baby­lon, How to win friends and influ­ence people.

These are just a hand­ful to get you started. I grew up read­ing story books like Enid Bly­ton and I still love those books but I have learnt a lot from read­ing some of those other books that I men­tioned before.

Char­lie tremen­dous Jones said that 5 years from now your life will be the same except for 2 things the books you read and the peo­ple you meet.

Start read­ing a few pages each day and have a jour­nal and pen with you and see your life change for the best.
