Are you blessed?

Good day my friends. Today I will like to share a personal experience with you that I hope may move you forward in your life and help you to realize just how blessed you really are!

Just a few days ago I noticed a button under my left foot. It was one of those buttons that looked like a huge pimple that you usually get sometimes on your face. I got scared when I saw that. For the next few days I could not even walk good. It felt really horrible!

I then got so fed up of not being able to walk properly that I decided to burst the button myself. I burst the button and a lot of pus ended up coming out of it but the button was gone. I was happy that I could walk a lot better. However, after about 24 hours the button came back once again. Now this really had me a little worried! I decided that I needed to seek medical attention concerning this problem!

A few days later I went to a doctor and he looked at it and he said he may need to inject the foot and burn up the infection that he was seeing. Gosh, my heart could have almost jumped out of my body. However, he gave me a chance by telling me that he will give me some antibiotics and see if that gets rid of the infection and I will have to visit him after 2 days so he will see if it worked or if he needed to burn the infection.

I went home both relieved and scared at the same time. I took the antibiotics as prescribed and I prayed and prayed and had other people praying that the doctor would not have to burn the infection.

Two days later I went and the doctor said it was fine and there was no problem! I was extremely happy!

I then began to look at life a bit differently! I began to see just how blessed we really are and how we take the little things for granted. We spend so much of our lives thinking that ‘the grass is greener on the other side’ when we don’t realize just how blessed we are right now. When I saw that I could walk again I saw how blessed I was just being able to walk. There are lots of people who will do anything to trade places with you and the current situation you are in right now. I heard someone remark that ‘Once I had the blues cause I had no shoes, when upon the street I saw a man who had no feet’.

We are blessed a whole lot and we need to realise that  lot of the things that we got for free e.g. our health, our feet, our eyesight etc. are things we should not take for granted! There are people who will do anything they could to have what you have. So learn to start counting your blessings. Don’t feel your blessings don’t count!

Remember the next time you are feeling down, do as one of my mentors Og Mandino would do. Take a look at the newspaper and grab a look at the obituary section. There you will see lots of people who will do anything to trade places with you!!

STOP TAKING YOUR BLESSINGS FOR GRANTED!!!
