Let’s face it. We all have stress some times in our lives. As a young adult we have stress when it comes to our peers, our jobs, our looks, our money and lots of other things. It is vital that we handle the stress in our lives because too much stress can cause us to have a decline in our productivity and most importantly it can cause our health to deteriorate and worst case scenario is we can die due to stress.

In this article you will learn 3 simple tips to reduce stress in your life.

Get enough sleep- This is vital. You must get enough sleep each and every night. You should be getting at least 8 hours of sleep each night. If you aren’t getting 8 hours of sleep your whole day will be filled with stress as you will have problems concentrating throughout the day and you will feel irritate. Avoid caffeine and sweet stuff when it is close to night time as this affects your sleep.

Plan your day in advance- Before you go to sleep at night you should plan all the things you need to do the day before. Think of everything you need to do and write it down and carry it with you to school or work the next day so that you don’t find yourself in the middle of a meeting only to remember that your wife or girlfriend needs you to drop them to a certain place at a certain time and you will be forced to cancel on them. This does not look good on you.

Laughter- Laughter is another great way to reduce stress in your life. Most people are too uneasy and take things to seriously that they forget how to laugh and have fun in life. Go into a dvd store and rent a nice comedy every week and learn to laugh when you are feeling stressed. Get a good joke book to read as well. It is said that 1 minute of laughter is equal to 15 minutes of workout so learn to laugh.

So there you have it. 3 Simple steps to reduce stress in your life.

What you need to do right now is just choose 1 of those tips I gave you and after applying it, tell me how you felt after putting it into action. I can bet you that you will feel a significant reduction in the amount of stress in your life.

As young adults, we all want to be free. I am sure you can relate to that. I hate having to go to work for 8 hours and get 1 hour lunch and then hardly have enough time to do what I want to do when I get home. I want to be free. We all want freedom to do what we really would like to do.

So what is your definition of freedom? Think about that for a second. Some say freedom is doing what you want to do, when you want to do it, with who you want to do it with.

What is your definition of freedom? Here is an article by an unknown author that I am sure you can relate to.

In the United States of America lies a large industrial city which is the site of one of the world’s largest slave labor camps.

Located in and around the center of this city are community settlements where the slaves live.

Each morning the slaves move herd-like from their quarters into the slave labor camps.

Each one is at his or her station by 7:30 AM. Here they report to their master for the day’s duties. And here they remain chained until 5:00 PM when they’re released to go home.

The slaves have no choice as to how many hours they must labor. Sometimes they are required to work overtime until their master tells them they may leave and go home.

Each year the slaves are told when to take their vacations, for how long, and when they must return.

They have little choice as to how much money they earn as they are paid not what they are worth, but what the job is worth.

They are allowed very little time for lunch and coffee breaks during the labor hours.

The slaves will remain in their chains in great fear because the master can punish them with the “firing” or “layoff” whip.

It is said that even some of the older slaves who have been good and faithful have felt the sting of the whip.

Day by day, year-by-year, the slaves toil and grow older until the master decides it is time to release them to the retirement camps where they’re forced to sit idle and wait for death.

It’s a well-known fact that the old slaves who try to keep working are sometimes whipped with a “stop-their-pension” whip.

I know these slave camps exist for I once was a slave.

But now I am a free man who lives among the slaves.

The reason I am free is because I am in business for myself as a Network Marketer.

Yes, I am truly free. I arise in the morning at the hour called for by my schedule.

I decide my own hours. I can even sleep in late while the slaves are at work.

I can vacation when, where, and for how long I please.

I’m free to take my coffee break and lunch when I decide.

And of course, I can decide my own paycheck because I am not a slave.

I can choose to work when and where I please and with whom I please.

I’m free to stay in the city for as long as I want, or to move on to greener pastures if I decide to.

I’ve seen many slaves sadly pack their belongings to leave their city in search of a new master, but it is always the same.

There is, however, a ray of hope for the slave.

He or she can buy their own freedom.

The cost is not high, yet it seems high to those who do not have the courage to pay the price.

What is the price?

ONE MUST BE WILLING TO BE ONE’S OWN MASTER!

Now this is a great definition of freedom

What is your definition of freedom? is a post from: Brian's Motivational Blog

Don’t look to become a person of success, look instead to become a person of Value! – Albert Einstein

Now isn’t that one awesome quote. I have to admit that it is one of the best there is and no better person to say it than the brilliant Scientist Albert Einstein!!!

So what do you understand by that quote? Everyone talks about being successful and wanting to be described as a success but he is focusing on creating value!! Now how does this apply to your life?

Are you adding value to the people around you or taking away from them? Are you an addition or a subtraction in people’s lives?

So what does it mean to add value to someone’s lives? How can you do this? Do you need to have a million dollars, become a skilled athlete or be a famous person in order to add value to other people? Off course not!!!

To become a person of value look for ways each day in which you can help a certain someone!! You see an old woman coming to your church but she is struggling to make it up the flight of stairs. Why not lend her a hand? That’s creating value!!!

You’re in a job and your boss asks you to do something that is not in your job description but you willingly do it. Now that is adding value to your boss and I am sure that when the issue of promotion comes up, your boss will remember that you added value to the workplace!!!

Some employees hate the thought of doing something that is not in their job description and they refuse to do such duties. These are the same employees who always gets bypassed when it comes to promotion and they are quick to blame external things and not look at the person in the mirror and blame them!!!

My friends, the world is crying out for you to make a difference!! A simple hello, a simple smile may look like small things but they sure add a lot of value to the person who receives it!! The little things in life are indeed the big things!!

As you get up each day ask yourself how can I add value to someone this day!!! Let this become a habit and pretty soon you will be the person that people celebrate and not tolerate. You will be the one people consider to be a success and by adding value to other people you are indeed working your way to being a person of success as well because the person that adds value will not remain in the same position all of their life but will go on to great and mightier things!!!

Someone once said ‘I shall go this way but once. Any good therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can show for any human being let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it for I shalt not pass this way again!!!’

The whole purpose of this blog is to add value to the readers who I hope will share these messages to add value to other people as well!

If this has added value to you share it with other people as well. Take care my friends!!!

Are you the type of person who is afraid of being different? Are you the type who is to scared to differ from the crowd. Are you afraid of what people may say if you try to go after your goal and fail. One of the fundamental keys to success and happiness is to be different.

It’s really true. Someone once said that the opposite of courage is not cowardice, it is conformity. People behaving like everyone else. To really make it in this life you have to accept that you will need to be different than the majority of people you interact with.

Your habits need to be different, your thoughts, your attitude, your personality; they all need to be different than the majority of people around you. Most people are too scared to go after their dreams because they are afraid of what people may say if they fail to achieve their dream. One thing I can guarantee you is that if you do not go after your dream, your dream will not go after you.

You do not achieve success by luck. You achieve success by hard work. While most of the people are sleeping, you are awake going after your dream, while most people are on their cell phones gosipping, you are on your cell phone looking for new clients, while most people are watching ‘Who wants to be a millionaire?’ you are building a million dollar business.

You need to learn to accept that you need to learn to accept that you need to be different. When you are different, you will live a different lifestyle than people who want to be like the crowd. If you look at all successful people in the past, they were different than the majority of people in their time.

My advise to you today is to learn to appreciate the differences you may have with other people and show the people that by being different, you are making a difference in your life, their lives and in the world at large. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO BE DIFFERENT!!!

In Part 1 we talked about what a journal is and why it is important that you use one to glean information that you got during the day.

Theodore Roosevelt said “The only man who makes no mistakes is the man who never does anything. Do not be afraid of mistakes providing you do not make the same mistake twice.”

Now when you keep a journal you can be wise like Roosevelt and avoid making the same mistake twice. Many times we make mistakes and we fail to learn from them. If we had kept a journal we would have been able to learn from our past mistakes.

Another way for us to use a journal is for when we are reading a book or listening to a motivational tape or hearing a speech or something like that. I actually have one of those 5 in 1 notebooks from Papermate as a journal. You can choose your own type of book for a journal. I’ll just share how I use mine in this post.

I divided up my journal into 5 different categories and whenever I read or get something pertaining to that category I jot it in there. The 5 categories I have are Motivational, Spiritual, Health, Relational, Ideas. I usually try to fit in the things that I gather into one of these categories.

Many times we read a book and then forget everything we read. This is why you should keep a journal and record everything. I highly recommend you get a copy of Jim Rohn’s How to use a journal.

Make sure that at least once a week you go through all that you learnt over the previous week and try to make it a habit to do this weekly. By doing this continuously you show the world that you are indeed a very serious student and you really want to make a difference in your own life.

So what are you waiting on. Get out there and Start Journalling!!!

Ok I have a quick question to ask you. Do you use a journal? Do you have one? Do you have something that you go to regularly to learn from your past experiences? So you are probably asking what am I talking about and what exactly is a journal.

When I started listening to motivational speakers I kept hearing about writing in a journal and I kept wondering what is a journal and what exactly do you write in a journal. Now everyone uses a journal differently, so there is no right or wrong way to use a journal but it is vitally important that you start to use a journal.

I bought myself a copy of Jim Rohn‘s ‘How to use a Journal’ and I highly recommend that you get yourself a copy of that cd because he goes into detail about what is a Journal and how to use it. So what is the difference between a journal and a diary?

Excellent question and I’m glad you asked. A diary is basically a book where you write down what happened during the day and it is just basically a reminder of what you did that day and what happened. A journal on the other hand is where you write what you got from that day. A diary focuses on going through the day but a journal focuses on getting from the day.

Here is one way you can use a journal. At the end of each day before you go to sleep ask yourself what is it that you got from the day. What did your learn to do or not to do? You should have learnt at least 1 thing during the day. If you do this consistently for a year then at the end of the year you will be a full of wisdom to make it through the coming year.

My challenge to you is to get a book and at the end of each day start to ask yourself ‘What did I get from today?’ Write it down and each week look back at your journal and what you have learnt and let it be a source of inspiration for you to keep learning each day.

This is the end of part one. In part two I will share another way of using a journal.

Hello there. Today’s post may seem a bit controversial so I’ll really love to hear your feedback.

We live in a world today where a lot is said about giving. I mean I grew up in the church and we are always saying to give, give, give. If you give you will be blessed. Give and you shall receive!!! I am sure you have heard this lots of times. But my question to ask you is this…..Is giving everything?

There is a saying that says you can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving!!! What that says is that it is possible for you to give someone something and not really like them e.g. “your idiotic boss” etc. Put in your person in place of “Boss” there. You see it is possible for someone to give and not necessarily be a generous person.

In my opinion it’s not about how much you give that matters but how you live that matters!!! People will remember you more by the way you live than in how much you give!!!

Let me give you an example. Let’s say you are working in a Company. You give your life out to that company!!! You’re always working hard and making sure that everyone follows the rules etc. However, when you are out of the company you are known as a drunkard…You are always in the bar and clubs getting high and “hitting” on young school girls. What does that say about you? It is true that you are a very good worker in your company and you may even get promoted for your work ethic, however what about when you are not in work?

You can bet your bottom dollar that people will talk more about the fact of how you live after work than when you are in work! I’ve seen lots of people in Society who give a lot and that is commendable but the way in which they live makes their giving go in vain. If you have a child and you give them everything they need to have a happy life but the way you live as a father or mother will determine the type of respect you get from your children.

My point I am trying to make is this. Giving is a good thing and I highly encourage it, but more important than giving, is living. I’ll repeat that – “More important than giving, is your living“. Because people will not remember you so much for what you give but in how you lived!!!
