I agree completely (I'm a Christian also). Our society has turned love into a "feeling", when rather, it's a choice that you make. We choose to love someone, and even when they make us upset, we love them anyway, even if we don't "feel" it right then and there, whether they are a spouse, or family, or friends, or even not friends!
